Islington Square

Project Features

  • Mixed-use development comprising 260 residences with a blend of tenures, ranging from studios to penthouses, with 36% being affordable housing, 108 serviced apartments and 15,800 square metres of varied retail, commercial, and leisure facilities, such as a subterranean cinema with six screens, a luxury health club, independent eateries, cafés, boutique stores and theatres.
  • Exteriors were restored to their original grandeur and historic space reimagined with new purpose and vitality for the local community.
  • The former Royal Mail sorting office, built during the Edwardian era, sits at the heart of the development and contributes significantly to its character. The building's original facades have been preserved, meticulously detailed, and specified, with many of the existing architectural features salvaged and repurposed. Alongside this, the design incorporates high-quality interventions, featuring curves that contrast with the building's existing structures.

Islington Square has consistently exuded an irresistible charm throughout its development. Right from the start, the developer and their team have been mindful of the building's history and the surrounding Islington district. Their efforts have resulted in a contemporary, adaptable space that pays homage to the past through its design, while remaining accessible to all. This dynamic mixed-use development boasts an authentic shopping experience, opportunities for social engagement and stunning residential properties, imbuing it with both purpose and vibrancy.

Our team's collective efforts, ranging from planning and design to construction and project management, were essential in transforming the initial vision into a reality. I am proud to say that the outcome of this project was the result of our team's hard work and dedication to excellence.
